Sunday the 5th of January 2025 has been and gone - yet it was a curious kind of day with snowfall for much of the country, Nottinghamshire though thankfully due to the Pennines did not get the full brunt of the snowfall, but as Sunday the 5th of January continued, the weather changed bringing with it,
"Rainfall, that rainfall of course fell on already quite saturated ground."
And yet by Monday the 6th of January 2025, well the snowfall had largely gone, the landscape looked fresher, a chill in the air mind, and well what happens, something akin to a slight thawing had occurred, and from Shipley Lock, on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border, the River Erewash was already running higher than it had in a long time, and from above, the majestic Erewash Valley somehow looked calm and serene, transformed by the high water levels and of course the flood plains taking the excess water from a very swollen River Erewash, and the photos below, well they were taken this afternoon, at just gone 16:00pm.
