Tuesday the 19th of November 2024, When the landscape changes, the art of Snowfall and the magic and drama of the sky.

"Marmite" is possibly the best way to describe Snow and Snowfall, and you either love it or loathe it, but with the recent Snowfall, this morning I decided to do something a little bit different, and over the past years I have always captured the snowfall from the ground. This time around with the drone, I managed to capture a completely different landscape of the town of Eastwood in Nottinghamshire (not that far from the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border) with the glorious Snowfall that made the landscape and surrounding suburban areas look that little bit more magical, and with that magic, also came a certain drama within the sky, with moody and heavy skies.

"Moods of The Town, arts under Snow."

"The Moods, The Snow, A drama of Snow, Beauty down below."

Monday the 18th of November 2024, Perhaps the last of the Autumn Colours, before a change in the weather, and a look at the landscape of Colliers Wood, from a unique perspective.

Autumn eh? Yes, the Autumn of 2024 has been magical to say the least, with some truly glorious and opulent scenes of painted artworks and colour within the trees and within the landscape as well - but in some ways, Autumn has also been well,

"Rather short, sharp and quick. Blink and you have missed it in some degrees."

But it was on Monday the 18th of November 2024 that a visit to Colliers Wood was on the cards, and Colliers Wood - well it is a place that throughout the years I have always enjoyed visiting, and whilst it is a place of sanctuary and wildlife, a number of years ago Colliers Wood, well it would have looked completely different, for a start it was the former Moorgreen Colliery, now though it is a landscaped haven that still pays homage to the former mining heritage of the local area. And yet the last time I visited Colliers Wood, I could not help but notice quite a lot of Autumn foliage, this time around though I had an idea in the mind to capture it from above, but was I going to find any colours of Autumn? Well in the end I did - although what with the snow in the forecast, this was quite possibly the last of the Autumn colours that I was going to encounter.

"Hints of the Autumn a glow."

"Pastel is the Autumn Glow, a Change on the Way."

"Autumn Colours, the Lake below."

Thursday the 14th of November 2024, Sometimes you only have moments in which to capture the views and magic from above.

It goes without saying that "the season of Autumn is one of arts, colours and surprises, plus glorious lighting conditions." And if the light is good, then the landscape can look like a painting in certain cases, the light casting across a landscape really can make all the difference - and it was on Thursday the 14th of November, that in the late afternoon, with the light beginning to fade away, I noticed a glorious opulent light, and with that I could see some truly glorious sun ray's beginning to light up the landscape of the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire Border, and with that I just had to send the drone up into the air, to capture the views and magic, I only had moments in which to capture the magic, and below are the photos that I had managed to capture.

"Band of Gold, a Delicate Light."

"The art of Sun Rays, and Chasing Them."

"The Town, The Golden Orb of Rays."

Thursday the 14th of November 2024, A hidden park and the beauty of a Bandstand, finding abstracts in Mansfield.

Located just a short distance away from Mansfield Town Centre, in Nottinghamshire is something akin to,

"A well hidden and delightful gem, a glorious parkland that offers something of an escape from the surrounds of Suburbia."

And it was on Thursday the 14th of November 2024, that after a short trip into Nottingham, to carry out a small task, I decided to head up the A60 towards Mansfield, yes I had also agreed to meet someone I know for lunch and to try out the fantastic hidden gem that is "The Teahouse." Located within Carr Bank Park, but before lunch, a delightful walk around this glorious well kept and manicured park, of course I was also looking out for any Autumnal scenes and working out how I could capture the last elements of Autumn from above, but then I noticed the Bandstand that provides an almost central feature to Carr Bank Park, and here it was just the perfect place to send up the drone to see if there was any elements of Autumn, and from above, well I came across something beautiful, and that was of course the beauty of a bandstand and with it, the opportunity to capture some photos that had both elements of Autumn and of course a slightly abstract quality to them, and below are the photos that I had managed to capture.

"Autumn, Abstracts, Patterns in The Park."

"The Gold, The Bandstand."

"Lines and Arts, Abstract is The Beauty from Above."

"Symmetry and Patterns."

"The art of Autumn and Gold on the ground."

Wednesday the 13th of November 2024, For sometimes there is something magical about the light. The possible last glow of Autumn and the delightful Chapel on The Hill, Kimberley.

The last time that I had visited The Chapel on The Hill, in Kimberley, it was really rather, "grey, meh, dull, drab and windy." And whilst I did manage to capture some aerial photos of The Chapel on The Hill, however though they also seemed rather drab, dull and a bit meh! But it was on Wednesday the 13th of November 2024 - that I knew that with the afternoon light, something potentially magical would happen, the light was just perfect and where to capture the last of the afternoon light? Well of course a return visit to The Chapel on The Hill, was on the cards, and it really did go without saying that, what I came across was nothing short of a beautiful ethereal end of Autumn glow, with some hints of Autumn, still clinging on with a truly glorious light that just made The Chapel on The Hill, look that little bit more magical to say the least.

"The Chapel, The November Autumn Glow."

"Light, Arts, Shades, The Chapel down Below, the glorious Opulent Glow."

"Golden Glow, of The Chapel on The Hill."

Tuesday the 12th of November 2024, Finding the serene and the calm, The colours from above for they cling on, but only just. A short flight above Mapperley Reservoir.

Autumn eh, if there is one way to sum it up for this year it would quite simply be the following,

"A Short, Sharp Quick Shock of Opulent and Delightful Colours."

But despite Autumn of 2024 being somewhat short, at least it has delivered, with some truly glorious scenes and colours, that have also been rather interesting to try to capture - and that of course might be due to the slightly "sporadic" elements that this Autumn has bought along with it, in some places greenery, in other places glorious artistic and opulent colours, but when that Short, Sharp Quick Shock came about, well the colours this year seemed even more spectacular! Still though it was last week when I had visited Sherwood Forest, and a couple of days after that Blidworth Woods, and from down below what had I seen, perhaps the last of the Autumn Colours, from ground level, but from above though, looking down on the landscape - well that is a completely different story, and it was on Tuesday the 12th of November 2024, that a trip to Shipley Country Park took place, but this time a unique and delightful small walk around the banks of Mapperley Reservoir, located just a short distance away from Mapperley Village; down below at ground level, things looked different, a lack of colour, and when there was colour, it was sporadic, for here the transition from opulent Autumn Colours to Winter's bare elements was taking place, but I could see that the tops of the trees did still have colour, but how was I going to capture that colour, the end of Autumn. Well the simple answer to that was to send the drone up, and what I managed to find was serene and calming, the colours from above still clinging on, and yet down below on the ground, well it goes without saying "That the best of Autumn, seems to be over."

"Reservoir Gold."

"The last of Autumn Gold, for Arts cling on for now."

"The water, The Colour, and elements of Patchwork Green."

"Water Colour."

"Patchworks of Green, and The Opulent Colours of Autumn, for they just remain for now."

"The Pathway below, The last of Autumn Painted from above."

Monday the 11th of November 2024, Seeking Autumn by the banks of Moorgreen Reservoir. A challenging flight, but one of Autumn vistas and arts.

"Hold on, what is that making a welcome return in the sky?" For that of course was the question that I had to ask myself, yes on Sunday the 10th of November 2024, after quite a long time, or so it would seem, the grey and murky, meh,

Well that finally gave way, and on Sunday elements of blue skies and the light shining through the clouds could be seen, it really was magical to say the least - but of course Monday the 11th of November 2024, well that bought with it a return to glorious Autumnal weather yet again, thankfully with blue sky and sunshine, not to mention a strange kind of warmth! Yes, warm and mild in the month of November? Years ago I would not have thought that would have been possible, but digression aside regarding the warmth and mild weather, and well I was wanting to seek the colours of Autumn, something that the recent Anticyclonic Gloom, has made slightly more difficult, but with the glorious blue sky and sunshine I knew that I would be in with a chance of finding some Autumn Colours, within the landscape - yet in the back of the mind I had figured a location of where I had wanted to go, okay it was something of a 50/50 chance, would I see any Autumn Colours or not? And in the end I decided to head off to Moorgreen, a familiar location that throughout the years I have always visited,

But which part of Moorgreen did I visit? Well that was also a location that I have visited over the many years and that location happens to be Moorgreen Reservoir, well the woodlands next to the Reservoir, which throughout the seasons always change, and they really are akin to a living art gallery, but the views on the ground are different from the air, and with the lighting conditions being just perfect, well I decided to fly the drone and seek out the colours of Autumn by the banks of Moorgreen Reservoir, yes the flying was slightly challenging because of surrounding trees, but from above, well what I found were glorious Autumnal Vistas, Views and Arts, here of course the woodlands at the side of Moorgreen Reservoir, gently meet the waters edge, and with the glorious colours of Autumn still being visible from above, well I had encountered something truly beautiful and magical, the arts of Autumn, the colours and despite a busy road with metaphorical thunder - the sound of traffic as it goes by, well a strange kind of silence, serenity, and below are the views that I managed to capture.

"Floating above the colours of Autumn."

"Golden, Autumn, Along the Banks."

"Where the Colours they meet the Blue."

"Autumn and The Reservoir."
