Monday the 11th of November 2024, Seeking Autumn by the banks of Moorgreen Reservoir. A challenging flight, but one of Autumn vistas and arts.

"Hold on, what is that making a welcome return in the sky?" For that of course was the question that I had to ask myself, yes on Sunday the 10th of November 2024, after quite a long time, or so it would seem, the grey and murky, meh,

Well that finally gave way, and on Sunday elements of blue skies and the light shining through the clouds could be seen, it really was magical to say the least - but of course Monday the 11th of November 2024, well that bought with it a return to glorious Autumnal weather yet again, thankfully with blue sky and sunshine, not to mention a strange kind of warmth! Yes, warm and mild in the month of November? Years ago I would not have thought that would have been possible, but digression aside regarding the warmth and mild weather, and well I was wanting to seek the colours of Autumn, something that the recent Anticyclonic Gloom, has made slightly more difficult, but with the glorious blue sky and sunshine I knew that I would be in with a chance of finding some Autumn Colours, within the landscape - yet in the back of the mind I had figured a location of where I had wanted to go, okay it was something of a 50/50 chance, would I see any Autumn Colours or not? And in the end I decided to head off to Moorgreen, a familiar location that throughout the years I have always visited,

But which part of Moorgreen did I visit? Well that was also a location that I have visited over the many years and that location happens to be Moorgreen Reservoir, well the woodlands next to the Reservoir, which throughout the seasons always change, and they really are akin to a living art gallery, but the views on the ground are different from the air, and with the lighting conditions being just perfect, well I decided to fly the drone and seek out the colours of Autumn by the banks of Moorgreen Reservoir, yes the flying was slightly challenging because of surrounding trees, but from above, well what I found were glorious Autumnal Vistas, Views and Arts, here of course the woodlands at the side of Moorgreen Reservoir, gently meet the waters edge, and with the glorious colours of Autumn still being visible from above, well I had encountered something truly beautiful and magical, the arts of Autumn, the colours and despite a busy road with metaphorical thunder - the sound of traffic as it goes by, well a strange kind of silence, serenity, and below are the views that I managed to capture.

Sunday the 10th of November 2024, A break from the grey, Drama in the skies, Autumn Colours and Arts.

What a strange start to November it has been and I say that because of the constant Grey and Gloom that we have all been seeing, no sunshine at all, but that is of course Anticyclonic Gloom for you, a strange weather phenonium; but it was on Sunday the 10th of November 2024 that a trip to Derbyshire took place, the purpose of course was visiting The Whitworth Centre for the Peak District Artisans Autumn Fair, a unique event that showcases the best in arts and designs that The Peak District and Derbyshire has to offer. But heading towards Derbyshire and subsequently into Derbyshire, what did I notice and see? Well that would be,

"A break, a subtle and gentle light and the Anticyclonic Gloom beginning to break."

Needless to say that it was magical, and of course the drone was with me, although when I first set out, I was not sure if I was going to fly it and capture anything, but how wrong was I going to be, and I managed to get three flights out of the drone, and managed to capture the following things, from the following three locations,

1/. The vistas and views, the pastel like skies changing, a break from the grey, and The Lower Derwent Valley.

"The lower Derwent Valley is always rather dramatic no matter what time of the year it is. But when the grey sky begins to break, and does break, the views of the Lower Derwent Valley, from between Whatstandwell and Ambergate, with the River Derwent below, and of course Shining Cliff Woods, well that was just something else to see, ethereal and beautiful."

"Shining colours light up the grey."

"The Break in the sky, The Shining cliff colours they glow."

"Golden light, the opulent sight."

"Lower Derwent, a glorious sight and gold, the break in the sky."

2/. Whitworth Park and the elements of Autumn Gold.

"Ah, Whitworth Park, Darley Dale, a glorious park to walk around, surrounded on all sides by the landscape of the Derbyshire Dales, from here though a sense of change, as it feels like the Dark Peak meets the White Peak. But come the Autumn, the colours at Whitworth Park, well they change and from getting the drone in the air, I managed to capture the elements of Autumn Gold."

"Autumn Gold, Autumn Arts below."

"Abstracts and delights of the beauty of Whitworth. The Autumn does glow."

3/. When the sky changes, above Rowsley, the arts of nature as it painted the sky.

"Rowsley, is quite possibly the gateway or one of the gateways to the Chatsworth Estate, here is where Peak Village Shopping Outlet can be found, and yesterday afternoon, I noticed a pink/purple hue in the sky taking place, needless to say what I had seen when I got the drone up was something completely ethereal, maybe even slightly surreal and that was yet another work of art created by nature, a glorious Autumnal sky with colour!"

"The hill, the sky, A glorious purple sky."

"In a purple delight, a beautiful Derbyshire sight."

"The Purple, the arts of A Rowsley Sky."

Sunday the 3rd of November 2024, Finding the Autumn colour and delights, a visual feast of Beauty at Shipley Hill.

There is always something magical about Autumn, and perhaps slightly "perplexing" I say perplexing as I was having a conversation with another Photographer, Craig Yates, who simply said the following,

"The best of autumn has passed in some locations, but as I drive home I still pass trees that are resisting to turn. It is the strangest autumn."

And that is true, Autumn this year has been rather sporadic to say the least, and yet in the locations where Autumn has been and greeted us with opulent colours, well now they have seemingly all changed yet again, gone are those opulent colours, and yet in other places they still cling on somehow. It was earlier in October of 2024 that I had visited Shipley Park, and Autumn seemed that little bit "Hybrid." Lots of greens and yet a distinct lack of colour, but upon reaching Shipley Hill/(Horsepool Hill) well the opulent Autumn colours could be found. Fast forward to Sunday the 3rd of November and a visit to Shipley Hill/(Horsepool Hill) at Shipley Park was on the cards again - the weather still grey, claggy and the light was not exactly perfect, down on the ground yes there was colour, but it seemed to have largely gone, but from above, well that was a completely different story altogether as what I came across was Autumn colour and delights,

A visual feast of Autumnal beauty at Shipley Hill, and below of course are the works of Natures arts creating something just that little bit more beautiful. And despite the claggy, meh and grey weather, the colour of Autumn was just something else as I observed Shipley Hill, from a unique perspective.

Saturday the 2nd of November 2024. An Autumn flight with Abstract arts at Greasley Church.

Well then November, you have seemingly come around again rather quickly, yes it really is amazing how fast the year goes by, but the start of November has been somewhat "meh, grey and dull." But with that in mind, you can find colour within the meh, grey and dull drab weather that has become the subtle introduction to November, and where to go? Well a grey Saturday afternoon meant that I wanted to try to find some colour in the landscape, and with that, the historic 15th century Greasley Church in Nottinghamshire, a Church that no matter what the season is, always looks photogenic, even with the light not being perfect, but what I came across was perhaps the peak of Autumn colours, just about clinging on.

"Finding the colour, the trees and fields under the grey of a Greasley Sky."

"Arts of Autumn, surround the Church."

"Perhaps the peak of Autumn, The Fields as they stretch onwards."

"Just framed in Colour."

"The last of the Colour that surrounds the Autumn of Greasley."

And then of course an idea came into my head, located within the Churchyard at Greasley are some truly delightful Cherry Tree's that in the Spring, are awash with colour, awash with the glorious and opulent pink Cherry Blossoms - but in the Autumn? Well again colour, only this time I decided to try something a little more abstract, and to capture the beautiful warming Autumnal tones that these trees have, and below are those results - what do you think of them?

"The Autumn Glow."

"Patterns, Shapes and Autumn Abstracts."

"Forms and Autumn Abstracts, a Beauty of the Palette of Autumn glow."

Friday the 1st of November 2024, As I noticed the light changing outside, a split second decision was made, and in the end what I came across was a delightful work of Autumn Art.

Autumn, a season of colour and a season of surprises and delights and one of those "Autumnal Surprises" happened yesterday afternoon, it was coming up to 16:40pm, the November afternoon drawing to a close and when I looked outside, what should I notice? The sky becoming more watercolour or even pastel like, a strange pink hue and I knew that a split second decision would enable me to capture this glorious Sunset from above. I got the drone out and it goes without saying that I was completely left in awe at what I had just seen and encountered - which was quite probably,

"One of the if not the best sunsets that I have ever seen, with the sky being a plethora, a mixture, a painting, an artwork of purple/pink/orange hues, and well nature was the artist creating this beautiful and delightful work of art."

"In a purple rush."

"The Autumn Arts, the sky it Glows."

"Clouds, Patterns, Purple, The Orange and The Pink. A watercolour of the sky."

"Elements, the art of the Watercolour, perhaps Pastel Sky."

"Under the Watercolour Skies."

"When the sky, makes arts of the town. A Silhouette of beauty."

"Beauty and Silhouettes."

Wednesday the 30th of October 2024, A carpet of colour as far as the eyes can see - colours and the arts of Autumn from above "Moorgreen."

The road that leads from the Horse and Groom Pub, at Moorgreen towards Beauvale Priory is one that forms part of a "loop road." If you drive the full length of this road it eventually leads you back towards Watnall and Watnall Farm Shop, but the drive itself yes can be challenging but it is also vastly scenic with vistas and views over the rolling Nottinghamshire Countryside - from the New Road, side it is possible to see opulent views no matter what time of the year it is, over the rolling Nottinghamshire Countryside towards Derbyshire on the not too distant horizon, but it is also a road that over many years I have always enjoyed taking trips along, observing the views and the changes in the season. But it was on Wednesday the 30th of October 2024, that after a trip to the more northern parts of Nottinghamshire, to see the Autumn Colours, that I just had to head up New Road, past the Horse and Groom Pub and past Beauvale Priory to the woods at the top end of Moorgreen, I knew that there was going to be colour, Autumn colour, but this time around well I came across a carpet of colour as far as the eyes can see, and from above - the trees had an opulent and delightful artistic element to them, abstract yes, beautiful yes, and that is of course the magic of Autumn, it is a season that provides us with a much more "painted landscape." And below of course are the photos that I managed to capture.

"The carpet of colour. Green to Gold."

"Orange Twists, a seeping light."

"A painted woodland, the opulence of Autumn."
